The Streaming Giant Casts Perfect Performer for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Season 3

Baroque Works is poised to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t take place until the next season, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has just been cast.

Netflix announced this week that the skilled actor has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will embody Mr. 2. Bon Clay can use their power to transform into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The performer, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a version of that role reimagined as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the original manga and anime.

Escola joins multiple new cast members who will portray Baroque Works to the screen, featuring leader the main antagonist, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the ensemble as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.

Though the role is a major member of Baroque Works, the individual will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Considering the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this marks a significant shift in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest more adjustments to the story’s structure.

The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the character. Besides their latest vocal work in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for penning and acting in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.

The platform’s adapted One Piece show is scheduled to come back for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
